DEFRA Approved
Article 24 (1) (e) of Regulation (EC) No
The Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA), formerly the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA), is an executive agency working on behalf of the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and is responsible for inspecting, and Registering or Approving, premises used for treating Animal By-Products in the UK, except Northern Ireland.
In March 2013 our premises were approved as a Pet Food Plant for the handling of Category 3 Animal By-Products.
Our Approval Number is: 38/088/8016 ABP/PTF
A list of Approved and Registered premises can be found on the DEFRA Website. Confirmation of our Approval can be found by viewing the document ‘Approved animal by-product plants in Great Britain’. We can be found under Section VIII – Petfood Plants.
Under the terms of approval, and to comply with the requirements of the Animal By-Products Regulations 2011, our products and processes undergo a continuous programme of rigorous testing.
