Obesity in Dogs

Although many people don’t see overweight or obese Dogs as a problem, the health risks of obesity are real.  Obesity contributes to a wide range of health problems such as:

  •      High Blood pressure;
  •      Osteoarthritis and joint issues;
  •      Type II diabetes;
  •      Heart, respiratory or kidney disease;
  •      and many more.

Obesity, or the resultant health problems, can shorten a Dogs life by up to two and a half years.

To reduce the risk of obesity we suggest that the best time to treat your Dog is during, or immediately after play or training sessions.  This reinforces the link between exercise and treats and will help your Dog look forward to their daily activity.
